Lift the scanner platform and replace the correct local black cartridge.

Replace the cartridge
- Close the feeder or scanner lid, hold the control panel and lift the scanning platform. Open the toner cover using its left-front grip.
- Remove the old cartridge. Unpack the new one and gently rock it five or six times.
- If the replacement has a sealing tape, put it on a level surface and pull the tape completely out in the direction shown on its packaging.
- Align the cartridge’s side guides and slide it fully into the printer. Close the toner cover and lower the scanning platform carefully.
