Brother MFC-L2700DW and DCP LCD models: replace the drum
Fit a new mono drum and confirm its replacement with the correct MFC or DCP control.

This is the mono LCD procedure for the exact models listed below. Brother keeps the toner cartridge inside a separate drum carrier: move the toner you are using into the new drum.
Fit the new drum
- Leave the printer switched on and open its front cover. Pull out the combined toner and drum assembly onto disposable paper.
- Press the green release lever and lift the toner out of the old drum.
- Unwrap the new drum and remove its supplied protection. Push the toner into it until the lock catches.
- Slide the green corona-cleaning tab gently back and forth several times, then align its arrow with the drum’s home-position arrow.
- Refit the assembly. Keep the front cover open for the counter reset.
Confirm the replacement
- With the printer on and the front cover open, hold OK for about two seconds until Replace Drum? appears.
- On the listed MFC models, press 1. On the listed DCP models, press the Up arrow.
- Close the front cover and check that the drum warning has cleared.
