OKI B412dn / B432dn / B512dn: replace toner and check the lock
Separate an empty-toner message from an improper lock-lever position.
1 min readTONER LOW means prepare a replacement. REPLACE TONER / 413: TONER EMPTY means replacement is due. CHECK TONER CARTRIDGE / 547: IMPROPER LOCK LEVER POSITION calls for a seating and lock check.
Seat and lock the replacement
- Press OPEN and open the top cover fully. Avoid hot internal parts and keep fingers off the image-drum surface.
- Turn the blue toner lever along the cartridge’s Unlock arrow until it stops, then lift out the old toner. Keep the image drum for a toner-only replacement.
- Unpack the correct new toner, gently distribute its contents and remove the labeled tape while holding it straight. Locate the left end against the drum’s pin, then lower the right end.
- Turn the blue lever along its Lock arrow until it stops and close the top cover. If it will not lock or 547 remains, stop and send us the cartridge label and exact message.
