A page produced by the printer itself bypasses your document and computer print job. Comparing it with the faulty document helps narrow the problem before changing cartridges.

Compare the results
- If the internal page has the same defect, use the matching toner, drum or paper troubleshooting guide and keep the page as a sample.
- If the internal page is clean, try a different document and check its print settings or connection before replacing supplies.
- On a multifunction printer, a line that appears only in feeder copies can come from the scanner glass strip. Compare a flatbed copy and a computer print before blaming the toner.
