HP M401 / M425: run a cleaning page
Remove loose toner and dust using the correct Pro 400 panel controls.

For spots, toner smears or repeating marks on HP M401/M425 printers, try a cleaning page after checking fresh laser paper and the correct paper type. The button and touchscreen panels have different entry points.
M401 with a button/LCD panel
- Press OK, then open Service → Cleaning Page.
- Load plain A4 or Letter paper in Tray 1 when prompted, then press OK. Wait for completion and discard the sheet.
M401 touchscreen or M425 touchscreen
- From Home, touch Setup → Service → Cleaning Page.
- Load plain A4 or Letter paper when prompted and touch OK. If the screen asks you to reload the printed sheet, return it to Tray 1 in the same orientation. Wait until cleaning finishes, then discard it.
