Check the affected cartridge

Confirm it is the correct regional LC223 product for your MFC-J480DW.
Open the front ink cover and release the cartridge named in the message.
Check the marked shipping protection has been removed according to the cartridge’s instructions. Keep the chip and outlet seal undamaged.
Insert the cartridge slowly and firmly in its correct slot. Push the rear marked PUSH until it clicks and the release lever rises.
If Brother’s air-bubble condition applies, slowly turn the removed cartridge so the supply port points downward, then reinstall it. Do not shake or squeeze it.
