Canon PIXMA TS6150: support code 1688
Replace an empty tank. If a confirmed filled replacement has retained a level warning, the Stop button disables monitoring.
1 min readThese instructions are for PIXMA TS6150 and its 580/581 tanks. Code 1688 reports that a tank has run out. The normal fix is to replace the indicated tank and close the scanning unit/cover.
For a confirmed filled tank with an incorrect level reading
- Leave the affected tank installed.
- Hold the printer’s Stop button for at least five seconds, then release it.
- The remaining-ink detection function is now disabled for that tank. The tank appears white in the estimated-level screen; this does not refill it or restore a full reading.
- Watch print quality and stop if output fades or a colour disappears. Replace the tank when it is empty.
This procedure is for code 1688 on the named model. It does not fix a missing, incorrectly fitted or incompatible tank.
