Brother HL-L2350DW: repeated dots and drum-dot cleaning
Use the drum-dot sheet to locate repeating marks and clean only the affected spot safely.
1 min readOn HL-L2350DW, dots repeating roughly every 94 mm / 3.7 inches can come from material on the drum. The drum-dot sheet helps locate it; not every repeating defect is caused by the drum.
Locate and clean the spot
- With the printer ready, use the arrow buttons to select Print Reports, then OK. Select Drum Dot Print and press Go.
- Keep the check sheet. Switch the printer off, open its front cover and remove the toner/drum assembly. Release the toner with the green lever.
- Place the drum as shown in Brother’s illustrated reference, with its gear on the left. Match the sheet’s numbered column to the drum markings.
- Turn the drum using its end wheel only to find the matching spot. Gently remove the material with a dry cotton swab.
- Lock the toner back into the drum, refit the assembly, close the cover and turn the printer on. Compare a fresh print.
Use the manufacturer’s illustrated procedure for another model; drum dimensions and report menus differ.
