HL-5240 / MFC-8460N family: replace DR3100 drum
Use the LED, printer LCD or all-in-one panel procedure after fitting a new drum.

Use the model’s replacement sheet to release the toner from the old drum and lock it into the new one. Handle the plastic frame, protect the drum from strong light and leave the front cover open after refitting the assembly.
HL-5240 / HL-5250DN LED panel
- With the machine on and front cover open, hold Go for about four seconds until all four LEDs light.
- Release Go, close the front cover and check that the Drum light is off.
HL-5270DN / HL-5280DW printer LCD
- With the machine on and front cover open, hold Go until DRUM CLEAR appears.
- Release Go, then close the front cover. This printer panel has no numeric keypad; do not try an all-in-one star-key sequence.
DCP-8060 / DCP-8065DN / MFC-8460N / MFC-8860DN / MFC-8870DW
- With the machine on and front cover open, press Clear/Back.
- For the listed MFC models, press 1. For the listed DCP models, press Up.
- When Accepted appears, close the front cover.
