Brother MFC-9340CDW: reset replacement colour toner

Locate the star key before opening the cover, then hold its unlit position.

2 min read

This older MFC touchscreen sequence uses the star key on the touchpanel. Follow it only for the listed MFC models, not a newer Back/Cancel touchscreen.

Reset after fitting the new toner

  1. Keep the printer on. If necessary, dismiss the toner warning with Cancel to reach the home screen.
  2. Tap Fax so the numeric touchpanel appears. Note the star key’s position, then return Home.
  3. Open the top toner-access cover. Hold the now-unlit star-key position for about five seconds to open the toner reset list.
  4. Select the replaced colour and correct yield. At the Reset? prompt, choose Yes.
  5. Once Accepted appears, close the top cover.
