HP ENVY 5640: print with one cartridge
This two-cartridge model can use single-cartridge mode when one supply is empty.
1 min readThe ENVY 5640 uses a black HP 62/62XL and a tri-colour HP 62/62XL cartridge. Its single-cartridge mode is for this two-cartridge design, not HP OfficeJet models with four separate tanks.
Use the remaining cartridge
- Use the normal cartridge-access procedure and wait for the carriage to stop.
- Remove the empty cartridge, close the access door and confirm OK if the single-cartridge message appears.
- With black remaining, print in black and white. With tri-colour remaining, colour is available but black can look lighter.
- Install both correct cartridges again to leave single-cartridge mode.
