Brother MFC-J480DW: fit LC233 ink cartridges

Install slowly, keep the outlet seal intact and confirm only the colour you replaced.

Use the LC233 replacement listed for your local MFC-J480DW. The four colours have separate positions behind the front ink cover.

Replace the indicated colour

Open the ink-cartridge cover. Press the release lever for the indicated colour and take out that cartridge.
Prepare the replacement using its own supplied instructions. If it has orange protective packing with a green release lever, turn the lever anticlockwise until it clicks, then remove that packing.
Keep the ink-outlet film and unmarked labels intact. Do not puncture the cartridge; compatible packaging can differ from Brother’s orange cap.
Insert the cartridge in its labelled direction and correct colour slot. Push slowly and firmly until it latches.
Close the cover. Confirm the replaced colour when asked. The printer then updates its ink dot counter.
