Keep the reusable drum when fitting a smaller toner-only cartridge.

Fit new toner into the retained drum
- Switch the printer off and open the front cover. Pull out the drum-and-toner assembly by its handle.
- Press the blue release button and lift the old toner out. Unpack the replacement and remove its orange protective cover.
- Seat the new toner in the retained drum. Slide the blue corona tab right and fully back left.
- Refit the assembly, close the cover and switch on. Replace the drum separately only when its own condition or message requires it.
